Hiking Mt. Equinox

Cozy and private!

Just a few miles from Manchester town center. It is very easy to drive to and each room has an individual parking space right in front of it. I loved that each room felt like it’s own building. The rooms are spacious and each one is decorated differently. It was clean and we had all the amenities we needed. We had our own sliding door to the back lawn of the property and I’m sure it gets plenty of use in the summer. There really wasn’t much noise and we barely even knew other people were staying at the lodge until we saw them at breakfast. The pub and breakfast area are intimate and decorated with a variety of antiques. The breakfast portions are huge and they were able to make modifications to make our breakfast vegetarian. Would definitely come back and spend more than one night next time!

Eastern slopes of Mount Equinox

The Equinox Preserve covers 914 acres of forest lands on the eastern slopes of Mount Equinox in Manchester, Vermont. It is open to the public for year-round, non-motorized recreation. Over 11 miles of marked and maintained trails provide access to these unique mountainous woodlands.  From the North Shire Lodge, turn left and go North on 7A, turn left on Prospect St., and left on West Union St.  At the end of the road is a parking area, and trail maps can be found at the kiosk.   The Blue trail is a difficult but rewarding hike that will take you to the summit of Mt. Equinox.

Great Little Place!

Delightful, friendly place to stay while in the area. The pub menu has something for everyone ( nacho plate is huge) and the bar has a wonderful collection of Scotch whisky at extremely reasonable prices. Rooms are well appointed and clean. The owner/operators were warm and friendly. We will be back next year!
